In 2006, Paradise Seeds launched Wappa, an indica-dominant cannabis strain in feminised form. Since Paradise has an excellent reputation in the grow scene, everyone was looking forward to this new strain. With Wappa, Paradise Seeds, as a renowned and experienced breeder, has brought a special and first-class hybrid to the market, which is very easy to grow and won the Copa de Canarias in 2011.
Paradise Seeds themselves describe Wappa as a low-growing hybrid with 60% indica content, very suitable for indoor growing under limited space conditions. Her final height is said to be around 60-70cm and the aroma fruity, sweet and reminiscent of candyfloss. Because of its very few petals, it is said to be very easy to manicure. Despite its indica growth and rather short flowering time, it is said to have no oppressive stoned, but an exhilarating and activating high, like good sativas have. And all that with 18% THC content.
With Wappa, Paradise Seeds has succeeded after intensive breeding work to create a strain that is ready for harvest in 8-9 weeks flowering time, has a low, stocky indica growth and at the same time delivers high yields of 500/m². Wappa also has a good outdoor performance, it adapts well to the climates of Northern Europe such as Belgium or Holland and harvests of up to 500 grams per plant are possible. She also has a euphoric, stimulating and upbeat high, as well as a very delicious, very fruity aroma.
Only feminised seeds are available from Wappa.
Experiences with Wappa from Paradise Seeds:
In the trial, all Wappa seeds germinated well and the seedlings came out of the growing medium after only 3 days. They were immediately placed under a total of 225W CFL lamps. Because this variety is not intended to grow very tall, flowering was only initiated after 27 days of growth, with the plants reaching a height of 45-55cm. The harvestable plants had a final height of over a metre, so they should be sent into flowering earlier in smaller grow boxes.
After changing the photoperiod from 18-hour to 12-hour lighting, all 9 plants started flowering as planned after 8-10 days, female of course.
Under the 600W NDL lamp, the Wappa girls stretched more than twice as much by the 4th week of flowering and formed strong side branches. After 3 weeks of flowering, she developed a very sweet and fruity scent, which increased again especially before harvest.
The plants formed compact, dense buds and one, long and big headbud. There were some differences in height of the Wappas, some were lower and some rather higher. Plant heights ranged from 90cm to 105cm for the taller phenotypes.
Only one of the plants produced a few male flowers (so no tendency to hermaphrodite, this is normal towards the end of flowering). As promised by Paradise Seeds, the Wappas were ready after 59 days and could be harvested. The aroma of the harvested buds was incredibly intense, fruity and sweet, reminiscent of strawberries.
The flowers were compact and very dense and could easily be manicured. Two of the 9 Wappas were characterised by extreme resin production. Wappa gives a stimulating, very pleasant high that doesn't make you a bit tired but still relaxes the body. You stay lucid, perceive things more intensely and feel pleasantly elated. If you consume more of it, it unfolds a more relaxing effect, which leaves you hanging behind your thoughts in a light meadow.
