High bathing fun for relaxing and dreaming

Bath salts with cannabis do not have to make you high and are not necessarily psychoactive. But it can be different: it depends on the amount of cannabinoids contained in your bath mixture and the duration of the bath. The homemade cannabis bath salt has mainly anti-inflammatory effects and nourishes the skin, it is ideal for pain, muscle tension, cramps and nerve pain. It leaves you refreshed and feeling relaxed and balanced.

Our cannabis bath salt recipes have the potential to relax your muscles and can produce a certain euphoria depending on the cannabinoid concentration and bath time. However, this is not comparable to the effect of smoked marijuana.
Whether psychoactive or not, in any case the medicinal effects of cannabis are unfolded by the special baths and can become additionally effective, relieve pain and release tension. You can decide for yourself how high the cannabinoid concentration is in your bath salts or bath tub.
According to the experience of patients, these baths work best if you stay in the Wanner for at least 20 minutes. It can also be longer (30-60 minutes) if you think it is necessary.

Cannabis bath salts - important tips

Emulsion and homogeneity:

In the emulsion, oils and water are evenly mixed by e.g. saponins. We use soap nut as a saponin and aloe vera and sunflower lecithin as further emulsifiers. This ensures that the oils do not collect exclusively on the surface of the water or the edge of the tub or are wasted. Instead, a good distribution in the water can be achieved.

Completely decarboxylated high quality cannabis flowers:
All cannabis bath supplements also require decarboxylation to be effective. (30 minutes at 150°C in the oven). This is an important step not to be skipped. It guarantees the full bioactivity of the cannabinoids contained.

The preparation of cannabis bath salts consists of 2 steps:

1.) Make a concentrated cannabis bath base
2.) Add this cannabis bath base to a salt and aloe vera mixture and perfect the whole thing with essential oils.

Making the cannabis bath base

For our cannabis bath base we again use the beneficial and highly valued soap nuts and of course high quality buds. The soap nut is also known for its anti-inflammatory as well as anti-microbial properties, just like cannabis.

The very special thing : soap nuts are unique in that their saponins can interact with the cannabinoids in the water. It distributes the cannabinoids evenly and makes them accessible to the body. So the soap nut is the perfect companion for cannabis cosmetics and marijuana bath additives.

No soap additives or products other than soap nut should be added. I also advise against the use of ready-made and liquid soap nut products. Just use the raw unadulterated base ingredients for the best result.
In the spirit of aromatherapy, citrus peel and lavender are added to the cannabis bath base. This makes for a particularly pleasant aroma, but it doesn't have to be. The cannabis bath base can also be used alone and directly without further additions.

The cannabis bath base does not contain any preservatives and must therefore be stored in a cool place. If this is not done carefully, mould can form. If you freeze the cannabis bath base, you can easily and conveniently store it for 6 months. Although the cannabis bath additives contain salt, this may not kill all microbilogical organisms. Therefore, always store in a cool place, preferably freeze and use within 1-2 weeks. The recipe is sufficient for 3-5 baths.

Ingredients for the cannabis bath base

  • 2g sunflower lecithin
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 3-14g potent dried cannabis flowers (variety according to medicinal preference) or 2-8g hashish/kief or 10-28g resinous trim leaves.
  • 60 whole soap nuts, divided into halves
  • 3g dried lavender flowers
  • the zest of an untreated lemon
  • 1L water
  • 30 ml aloe vera gel (fresh from the leaf)

If you divide this amount into 5 bath sessions, you will get a pain-relieving effect but no psychoactive effect. If you divide the amount into three or less portions, the effects will be intense and possibly psychoactive. A longer bathing time intensifies the effects.

Melt the sunflower lecithin in the olive oil. Pour the hot oil over the cannabis and let it infuse while you prepare the soap nuts.
Rinse the dry soap nuts with hot water and drain. Then put the soap nuts, citrus peel and lavender flowers in a bowl.

Bring 1l of water to a boil and add to the ingredients in the bowl. Leave covered overnight or for at least 6-8 hours to extract the saponins and other plant extracts.

After this time, pour the soap nut mixture into a potg and place on the stove. Add the marinated cannabis and aloe vera. This mixture should now simmer on a low heat while stirring constantly. Do this until the liquid has reduced by half. This can take 45-60 minutes.

Then allow the mixture to cool so that it is warm, but no longer hot. The plant parts are filtered out of the mixture with a cloth sieve and all the liquid is squeezed out completely.

Ready is your cannabis bath mix, which can be used for many medicinal and creative cannabis bath additives. The bath base makes about 250-480 ml of thick, heavy liquid. You can always add herbs of your choice or synthetic oils as you please.
