Cinnamon - a useful helper in cannabis cultivation

Cinnamon as a biological insecticide

There are various recipes for making organic insecticide: with onions, garlic, tobacco or pepper. Today we are talking about cinnamon, which is an interesting helper against various pests.

Cinnamon consists of the inner bark of the cinnamon tree. This is an evergreen tree that grows up to 15m high and comes from Sri Lanka. Cinnamon is mainly cultivated in India and Southeast Asia and is used almost exclusively for various foodstuffs such as desserts, cakes, sweets or in tea blends.

In cannabis cultivation, indoor or outdoor, cinnamon can be an effective helper against some pests due to its beneficial properties. It is effective against aphids, mites and even harmful fungi.

To control aphids, simply mix a little sand with cinnamon and sprinkle it on the ground where ants are moving, because they bring the aphids onto the plants and usually appear at the same time as the aphids.

If you want to control mites, simply boil 3-4 cinnamon sticks in 1 litre of water for 20 minutes. After a few days, the cinnamon water can be mixed with water and sprayed on the plants, leaves and undersides of leaves.

Cinnamon against harmful fungi

Cinnamon is an excellent fungicide. Due to its phenolic content, it can be used as a preventive or control against some harmful fungi. Especially young plants are easily attacked by fungi and cinnamon can help them.

If you want to use it in your grow, just add some cinnamon to your planting medium and existing harmful fungi will be killed. At the same time, you prevent new fungal infestations.

Recipe against fungal infestation

Boil about 100g of cinnamon sticks in 2L of water for 20 minutes and let it stand. Later, this mixture can be further diluted with water before it is used.
The antifungal effect of cinnamon is extremely helpful in seed germination. Add a little cinnamon to the glass of water in which the seeds are germinating and there should be no more dangerous fungi. This is a good way to prevent accidental disease, for example.

The next outdoor season is just around the corner and with this remedy you can help your outdoor plants to develop perfectly without being inhibited or even killed by pests: purely biological and very inexpensive.

There are also biological insecticides containing cinnamon extract such as Cinnaprot. Cinnaprot contains natural extracts from cinnamon and has a strong antioxidant effect. It is extremely effective against mites and can be used in organic cultivation. In addition, it strengthens the plants' own defence mechanisms.
