Soft Soap Cannabis

Control aphids and spider mites:

The cannabis gardener is happy when everything is green, blossoming and thriving, but it can happen that uninvited guests, namely aphids, join in. If there are enough predators, such as ladybirds, the threat remains under control or is eliminated after some time. However, it can also happen that the aphids or other pests spread and the cannabis plants need a little support to fight them.

1. soft soap solution basic recipe - against lice and spider mites:

You will need the following ingredients to make this spray solution:

  • 30g soft soap (solid)
  • 1 litre water
  • 1 Vessel

Pour hot water over the soft soap and stir until the soap has dissolved. When it has cooled down, you can spray it undiluted on the leaves and aphids.

It may be necessary to repeat this procedure to control all aphids.

Super anti-louse (extra-fast)

You will need the following:

  • 2 teaspoons alcohol (or organic spirits)
  • 1 litre soft soap solution (as above)
  • 1 spray bottle

Mix the alcohol with the soft soap solution and pour it into a spray bottle. Then spray the leaves and stems that are infested with aphids.

Super sprayer for all cases:

This is a spray that helps against all kinds of lice: black louse, mealybug, mealybug and blood louse.

You will need the following ingredients:

  • 200g fresh fern leaves
  • 1 litre water
  • 30g solid soft soap
  • 1 teaspoon cooking oil
  • 10ml alcohol
  • 1 muslin cloth
  • 1 sieve

This is how it works:

Separate the fern leaves and put them in a saucepan. Cover with the water and simmer at a low temperature for one hour.
After cooling, filter out the plant parts with a sieve and cloth. Add the soft soap and mix until the soap has dissolved. Finally, add the oil and alcohol. Mix everything well. Finished!

Important tips:

  • The soft soap should be free of fragrances or dyes.
  • Alcohol destroys the waxy protective layer of some louse species, but it can also attack the leaves. It should therefore only be added in moderation and only in the case of heavy infestation.
  • Natural sprays should be stored in the refrigerator to avoid them starting to ferment.
