The new, innovative Homebox Ambient series under the magnifying glass

The new, innovative HOMEbox Ambient series is the latest product line from the oldest European manufacturer of grow tents. After the Evolution series brought some innovations and further developments, an additional tent floor has now been incorporated, so that the Ambient has become even safer. The most striking innovation of the Ambient, however, is undoubtedly its colour. The light sand-coloured look makes it ideal for integration into any living space. The HOMEbox Ambient is the most modern, most stable and most developed plant tent. The simple and uncomplicated construction as well as the many innovative changes make it the ideal mobile indoor greenhouse. The HOMEbox Ambient convinces leisure growers and professional growers alike. It is the Ferrari among grow boxes with an absolutely high-quality and durable finish. We would like to introduce you to this new, noble grow tent in a little more detail.

HomeboxThe HOMEbox Ambient is available in 11 different sizes:

Models starting with a Q have a square attachment area, models starting with an R have a rectangular base area.

PAR+ the interior coating of the Homebox Ambient and Evolution

PAR+ is an optimised and ideally reflective interior coating specially developed for the HOMEbox®. PAR+ is an intelligent coating that reflects more growth-promoting energy and at the same time less heat onto the plants. With other materials, it was found that more infrared radiation, i.e. heat, is reflected from the light spectrum of the NDL lamps than the plants need. The optimally reflecting PAR+ inner material results in a higher growth rate and significantly improved crop quality. PAR is the abbreviation for Photosynthetically Active Rad iation. This is a narrow spectrum of electromagnetic energy (400 - 700 nm) that plants need for photosynthesis. PAR is, in a sense, the photonic fuel for plants. The more PAR energy plants receive, the higher the growth rate and thus the amount of flowers and fruits produced.

The PAR laboratory test

In independent tests at the Electrotechnical Testing Institute in Prague, a 1.2 x 1.2 m HOMEbox® grow tent with PAR optimisation was compared with a silver-coated grow tent (of the same size) from a competitor. Both grow tents were exposed with a 600 W Osram Vialux HPS lamp in an "Adjust-a-Wing Avenger" reflector with super spreader, operated by a Lumatek electronic ballast in "super lumen" mode. Using the Avaspec 3648 fibre optic PAR meter, the light intensity was measured at 49 different test points 60 cm below the light source.

The result:

  • with the HOMEbox® PAR-optimised, 91.8 % of the cultivation area is used with 80 PAR watts or more.
  • with silver-coated planting tents , only 69.4% of the cultivated area is supplied with 80 PAR watts or more.

HOMEbox_LR_zipperlightproof zips

The Homebox Ambiente guarantees a light-tight greenhouse without the need for additional cover flaps. The special zips (zip fasteners), which are also used in the Evolution, ensure light-tightness. The new design allows convenient operation without tiresome threading. The zips have a high-quality finish, are resilient and extremely robust. After all, the zips play a decisive role when it comes to the longevity of planting tents.

OmniFlow Airvents

OmniFlow airvents are passive air inlets and outlets with completely new adjustment and sealing possibilities without Velcro fasteners. The inlets and outlets allow the flow of fresh air to be actively directed exactly where it is needed. The OmniFlow-Airvent system has already been registered for patent and will only be found in the high-quality HOMEbox® Evolution, Ambient and Vista models in the future.

Protection from insects

A fine screen insect screen has been sewn into the HOMEbox Ambient Airvents. The mesh material (with a mesh size of only 700 micrometres) offers the indoor gardener the best protection against pest intrusion. Two closing elements per OmniFlow Airvent can be completely removed and placed on the inside and/or outside of the greenhouse as desired.

Large door of the Homebox

Long missed by many growers, it has been realised in the Homebox Evolution and optimised for Ambient: If required, the access area of the grow tent can be opened completely and steplessly. Thanks to roll-up doors and side access (models from size Q 100), daily care of the plants is now a real pleasure and no longer a cumbersome laborious process.

Stronger frames, connectors and hooks

From the HOMEbox® Ambient Q100 model onwards (and larger), the plant tents have stronger frame poles (with 22 mm diameter) and more robust connections (connectors). They are equipped with hooks that provide almost unlimited options for hanging heavy ventilation, filtering and lighting equipment.

Additional and larger ventilation connections

Following many and important tips from the ranks of professional growers, the HOMEbox® Ambient models are fitted with tubes adapted according to position, size and number. The tent remains light-tight when fans and supply and exhaust air systems are installed. Larger models of the HOMEbox® Ambient series are equipped with additional tubes for mounting air-cooled reflectors.

Double waterproof bottom

The new, innovative Ambient and Vista models are additionally equipped with a fixed tent floor, which is waterproof and, together with the proven insert floor known from the Evolution, prevents water damage in the home if something goes wrong during watering. It also ensures that no pests can get into the box. Optimal mounting has also been thought of here. The all-round zipper makes the assembly of the HOMEbox Ambient really child's play, even in larger versions.

Accessories:

DrynetHOMEbox® Drynet

The Drynet is an easy and convenient way to dry your harvest. The Drynet can be hung in the Homebox during harvest time and it automatically turns into a drying room where you can safely and reliably dry the flowers. The Drynet 90 consists of six levels, each 90 cm in diameter, and comes with a carrying bag. It has significantly more usable space than any other drying net on the market.

Flora Net

Create your own Scrog with the Flora Net. With it you can support your plants and ensure optimal illumination of all plants. By tying them up and down, you can make the most of the entire growing area and create a homogeneous carpet of plants/flowers. The use is very simple. The Flora-Net is stretched between the four corners of the Homebox with the help of small hooks. This plant net is very durable and of high quality.
