Guerilla Grow

Guerrilla Cultivation, Outdoor Cannabis Growing, Guerila Grow

When the temperatures slowly rise and spring arrives, it's time for outdoor growers again. Since many people don't want to or can't use their garden, or simply don't have one, the only option left for many is guerrilla growing, i.e. secret cultivation in the wild. The big advantage of guerrilla growing is that if the plants are found, no one will associate the gardener with them. The disadvantage is that the plants cannot be controlled constantly and that losses can occur, be it through animal browsing or unpleasant contemporaries.

Selection of suitable varieties

At the beginning of each grow, the gardener is faced with the question of which variety or varieties to grow. About The best strains for outdoor growing I have already written a report on this recently. For the guerrilla grower, feminised seeds are particularly suitable, so that he does not have to deal with male plants or Automaticsthat stay small and start flowering on their own. For camouflaged growing, low-growing varieties are suitable, such as Big Band (Kannabia), Acapulco Gold (Barney' Farm) and Pure AK (Female Seeds) or one can use the Guerilla Mix by Kannabia. Quite new is the Frisian Duck by Dutch Passionwhose leaves hardly resemble cannabis.

Choosing the right place

Planning your grow is very important. Before germinating the seeds, it is important to know what the right strains are and where to place the plants. After all, what good are the best strains if you can't care for them properly or if they are seen by others and you are deprived of the reward for your efforts. Therefore, it is important to avoid busy areas and to check the chosen spot thoroughly that it is not visible from any side. When choosing the right spot, it is also important not to forget that it should not be easy to see the place from the air. In the meantime, helicopters are even used to search for plantations. Many a clearing that cannot be seen from the ground has the character of a lighthouse from a bird's eye view. It is also worth remembering that many a place that is not visited in winter or spring turns out to be a real picnic spot in summer. So it is best to know your grow sites for several years and know exactly that they will not be visited by uninvited visitors.

Another important consideration when choosing the right location is the availability of water. Cannabis plants need a lot of water, especially during flowering. Therefore, it is important to water the ladies regularly, especially when it is not raining for a long time. Either you have to carry the water (and unobtrusively) or you look for a place near a stream or pond. This way you can get the water you need to the plants without much effort. You should also pay attention to the condition of the soil. Soil that is too loamy is just as bad as soil that is too loose and cannot hold the water. Ideally, use a place where nettles grow. They need the same soil conditions as cannabis. They also improve the soil, provide shade for the young plants and act as a natural barrier. Very few people go into a stinging nettle field voluntarily, unless they have their cuties in it 😉 .

Requirements in the right place:

  • not much visited
  • Easy for the grower to reach at any time
  • not observable
  • the cannabis plants must not stand out from the surroundings
  • suitable soil
  • easy access to water

One Grow Place or several places?

Growing your babies in a single place undoubtedly has a lot of advantages, you only have to look for a suitable place and you can take care of all the plants in one go. This of course makes successful growing much easier. BUT, yes there is a big but, if the spot blows up the whole crop is lost. That's why it makes sense to divide your plants among several different locations. In addition, this way they are protected from epidemics that can spread quickly. If a parasite or fungus spreads, only a few plants are affected and the rest can grow and flower healthily.

Preparation of the planting site

Once the suitable place(s) have been found, it is time to prepare the grow space. In any case, you should arm yourself with a spade to dig around the soil and make a planting hole. The planting hole is best filled with grower soil mixed with Guano Powder mixed with the soil. If you cannot water all the time, you should use the Guerilla Hidrogel and mix it with the soil. These polymer crystals store the water and release it when needed. This means that watering is needed less often and the grow remains inconspicuous as a result. The planting hole should be cut out large enough so that the plants later have enough space to develop a healthy and strong root system. The stronger the roots, the stronger the plant will be. In order to get everything in place unobtrusively, all utensils should be stowed in a backpack or similar. You should also always use a different route to get to the grow site. Unfortunately, nothing is more conspicuous than walking the same way to a remote place every day - unless you have a dog with you, which is one of the reasons why I love my Gastone 🙂

Preparing the seedlings

Pre-growing Cannabis Plants

In any case, it is better to let the cannabis seeds germinate at home and grow the young plants for a fortnight before releasing them. If you have more space available and you want to have really big bushes (which are difficult to hide), it is advisable to sow the seeds at home already in March and grow the plants in a protected environment until mid-April. Exposure of the plants

Before planting the seedlings, it is important to prepare the planting holes as described above. This saves a lot of hassle and stress and makes the whole thing much more discreet. After you have planted the plants and watered them, you should definitely erect a fence of chicken wire around each plant. Especially the small, still fresh plants are extremely tasty to rabbits and co. The little munchkins have already killed many a plant for me. When they are bigger, this is not such a big problem, but as long as the ladies are still small, they are still very sensitive.

Which fertiliser is suitable for the Guerilla Grow?

Guanokalong Powder 3kgUltimately, it depends on the preferences of each gardener which fertiliser he uses. However, fertilising should be as simple as possible. Mixing different components together in the open prairie is not really suitable. Super results can be achieved with oranic Bat Fertiliser from Guanokalong. Only one component at a time, and all of it absolutely organic, which really corresponds to free-range cultivation.

Vegetation and flowering

Once the plants are established and well rooted, the main task is done. Now it's a matter of giving them regular water and nutrients and checking them for pests and mould. Unfortunately, not all plants survive their entire life cycle outdoors. In the wild, they are exposed to all kinds of imponderables and cannot be nurtured and cared for in the same way as in the growroom. Sometimes the chosen place simply turns out to be unsuitable or thieves and animals are up to mischief. That's why the experienced guerrilla grower plants about 3 times as many plants as he intends to harvest. This way he can be sure to harvest enough. You can find more information on the right time to harvest at Harvest time for cannabis more details.

If you pay attention to a few things, especially discretion and safety, nothing stands in the way of a successful outdoor season.
