Desfrán is a new pure sativa based on the successful and famous Destroyer genetics. These have been particularly popular in South America in recent years. Desfrán is a special selection and version of Destroyer, with a focus on even higher resin production. Sativa lovers will be thrilled by this strain and can hardly believe how much resin it can produce.
Desfrán is one of the legendary cannabis strains in South America and has won many Cannabis Cup awards. She is the result of crossing Destroyer with a Destroyer. She was originally a 3-way cross of Mexican Oaxaca, Colombian Punto Rojo and Meao and came to Dutch Passion thanks to Alberto from Argentina. Alberto is a master grower, a cannabis lover and the owner of "Haze Magazine". The introduction of Desfrán was a collaboration between Dutch Passion and Alberto.
During the vegetative phase, the Desfrán needs few nutrients. It grows well in soil and is grateful if it has enough space for its roots. She also grows luxuriantly in other growing media and delivers big yields. Desfrán is 100% sativa, which means she can reach a good height and forms long branches that spread quickly in the grow room. During the growing phase, this strain develops intense and fruity aromas.
In the flowering phase, the plant stretches considerably and can increase in height. Desfrán is an extremely resinous variety that is suitable for SOG and SCROG cultivation. It usually takes 9-10 weeks to flower. It produces unusually dense and compact buds for a sativa. The dried flowers look like glazed and glistening cones.
Tips & hints for growing the Desfrán
Desfrán is a tall plant that can completely fill the grow room with its great vigour. Indoors, it makes sense to control its height growth and contain the stretching with the SCROG method, for example.
The Desfrán forms extremely resinous and large flowers
This pure sativa prefers a lot of light and relatively few nutrients. Therefore, one should be cautious when fertilising. She gets the maximum out of a small amount of nutrients. It does not need any special additions to produce really thick flowers. It needs comparatively little water and has a high heat tolerance. Temperatures around 21° C at night have proved to be particularly good.
Towards the end of flowering, it is in most cases necessary to support the heavy and huge flowers with sticks or ropes, Easy-Rolls, etc. For indoor use, it is recommended to use plant pots with a volume of approx. 15 L.
The very long and resinous inflorescences make the Desfrán a real yield monster.
This cannabis variety should not stand in soil that is too wet, because it doesn't like that. The roots will not get enough oxygen. With an initial pH value in the vegetative phase of 6.2 and an increasing pH value up to the final flowering phase of 6.8, very good results could be achieved with it.
Despite various methods of height control, it is not uncommon for Desfrán to reach a height of 2m and more by the end of flowering, even indoors. Fantastic was my first thought, but this variety is rather less intended for micro-growing.

The effect
Let's move on to the most interesting thing of all: the effect. I already had the pleasure to test the Desfrán by Dutch Passion and was thrilled. It offers a very strong and wide-ranging high, even for the experienced smoker, that comes like a warm breeze and surrounds you slowly and intensely. It brings a real rush of euforia and has everything you want from a full-blown sativa: stimulating, heady, creative and fun-making. Consumed in higher doses, it also has a sleep-inducing effect and you wake up the other morning feeling fresh and alert.
An earlier harvest produces a very cerebral and psychedelic high, while a later harvest brings a sweeter taste and acts as a true destroyer.
The aroma & the taste
This strain is one of Dutch Passion's most aromatic and captivates with its strong and complex flavours. It tastes incredibly fruity and tropical with a slight hashish note. Fans of intense and subtle cannabis flavours will truly enjoy this strain and experience a completely new and rich bouquet.
