The Philips HPI-T Plus emits a blue-white light for the growth phase of all kinds of plants. It is a metal halide (MH) lamp. The optimum illumination of this lamp is sufficient for an area of 1 x 1 m. This lamp requires an appropriate ballast.

Metal halide (mercury vapour) lamps are used for the growth phase and breeding of mother plants due to their high efficiency. The white-blue light spectrum promotes root growth and produces hardy and vigorous plants. Operation is also possible with most NDL ballasts.
