Cinnamon extract has a preventive effect against fungi, bacteria and mites. It is an insecticide and mite repellent and at the same time prevents the development of fungi and harmful bacteria. The natural substances in cinnamon, such as cinnamic acid, have a defensive effect against pests or cause them to starve or stop them from reproducing. Cinnamon contains substances with a fungicidal effect that inhibit the germination of spores and the mycelial growth of phytopathogenic fungi. It acts by contact, so the whole plant, including the undersides of the leaves, should be sprayed.
