Auto Orange Bud by Dutch Passion: Orange Bud 2.0

Auto Orange Bud has an intense citrus dominant terpene profile that smells of orange and tangerine. It is a vigorous automatic with a unique terpene profile. Elaborate crosses over several generations have preserved the original character of the photoperiod Orange Bud strain. You can expect a distinctive and pungent citrus-dominant aroma from her. Orange, tangerine and lemon are the most common flavours when growing Auto Orange Bud. It is fresh and sweet at the same time with a slightly tart note. In short: a delicious combination for all cannabis lovers.

This autoflowering strain is popular for its high quality buds that are covered with a thick layer of resin. It is easy to grow and appreciated by beginners and experienced growers alike. Outdoors, it performs best in temperate climates, with hot summer nights resulting in fantastically high yields. The buds are hard and compact, with lots of bright orange pistils and a thick layer of trichomes.

The main breeder of Dutch Passion, responsible for automatics like Auto Mazar®, Auto Ultimate® and Auto Daiquiri Lime®, went to great lengths to create Auto Orange Bud®. First, a selected male Auto Daiquiri Lime® Autoflower was crossed with a photoperiod Orange Bud®. Then the main breeder waited until he had enough capacity to grow as many plants as possible so that he could continue the cross with the best and most productive specimens for 12 generations. This project took over 3 years and is Dutch Passion's largest and most complex autoflower breeding programme to date.

The main breeder consistently selected the specimens with the highest THC content and the biggest yields. He also wanted to preserve the smell, taste and effect of the original Orange Bud®. The result was an autoflowering variety that is just as good as the photoperiod Orange Bud® in potency, quality and aroma. Auto Orange Bud has a compact Christmas tree structure with thick sticky flowers.

A stable, sativa-dominant automatic that remains rather compact and grows with a beautiful central headbud surrounded by many large side flowers. It is a plant with a vigorous growth. In the first 4-5 weeks this plant grows mainly in width, from week 5-6 the vertical growth starts and the sativa character of this autoflower is more apparent.

It mainly develops in width during the first month. Once flowers appear and stretching starts, she usually becomes wider and more compact than you would expect from a sativa-dominant strain. During this stretching phase, the internode spacing increases and you will see the leaves become slightly thinner and more slender. Because of this growth structure, she is a perfect autoflower that grows naturally without the need for any growing techniques. The plants stretch the most in week 5-7, with most plants the vertical stretching stops completely around week 7 or 8.

Auto Orange Bud can be grown both indoors and outdoors. Most indoor growers use a 20/4 light cycle. Outdoors in more temperate climates, it gives the best results when grown during the best 3 months of summer. In a Mediterranean (dry and warm) climate it is possible to achieve 2-3 successful harvests in one season. Indoors the whole cycle takes on average 11-12 weeks, outdoors it can take 1-3 weeks longer under unfavourable conditions. Because of its compact flowers, humidity should be regulated and lowered at the end of the flowering period.

The high of Auto Orange Bud is strong and offers hybrid effects that produce a combination of mental and physical effects. The sativa-dominant influence makes the high initially more euphoric and uplifting. As you smoke more and the high continues, it becomes heavier and more physical. Many users report a strong, relaxed physical effect in addition to a euphoric feeling. It is a very strong and intoxicating high. The thick layer of sticky trichomes gives the high its power and strength. The effect puts you in a good mood and can produce munchies. It puts you in a happy, euphoric state.

It is best to germinate Auto Orange Bud and cultivate it under 20 hours of light per day. On average, it takes between 77-90 days until she is fully ready for harvest. Giving it an extra week will yield more amber trichomes and an even stronger narcotic high.

Outdoors, Auto Orange Bud needs about 12-15 weeks to finish flowering completely. Under ideal conditions (plenty of sunlight, dry climate), ripening is faster. Indoors, the plants grow 60-120 cm tall, achieve a bushy growth structure and get many side branches as well as a large headbud. Indoors, it can produce 400-500 g/m² while the scrog method gives the highest yields.
