Silicon dioxide, is the second most abundant element in the earth's crust (oxygen is the predominant), but it is missing from hydroponic growing in the root zone and in most fertilisers. Silicon dioxide is urgently needed by plants for their cell walls and the production of new cells.

It is not easy to give silicon dioxide (silicic acid) effectively to the plants. It dissolves only with difficulty in water and cannot be easily absorbed by the plants.
For the production of Rhino Skin, experiments were carried out with many different types of silica, different concentrations and production methods. It was found that potassium silicate, as in Rhino Skin, could give the best crop results.

Rhino Skin has a neutral pH of 5.7 and can work perfectly together with Advanced Nutrients pH-perfect systems. It should be added to the nutrient tank 2 hours before fertiliser is applied to ensure good distribution. Rhin Skin is one of the most effective and concentrated silicate products on the market.
