Hydro Correls are produced from high-quality clay and fired in a kiln at very high temperatures. They have an excellent water spewing capacity and are mainly used in hydroponic systems, but also in cultivation on soil as drainage at the bottom of the plant pot.

Hint:

• Wash and buffer Hydrocorrels before first use. You can find out exactly how to do this here find out.
• After a run, the Hydo Correls should first be soaked in chlorine bleach, Enviro Clean or similar (approx. 24 hours) and thus disinfected. Then rinse well and buffer with ph-corrected water + enzymes (e.g. Pure Enzyme from Plagron) buffer.

Before first use, rinse the expanded clay balls well and then let them soak in clean water.
After each cycle, rinse the hydroton with PH corrected water and enzymes.
In case of disease, disinfect with hydrogen peroxide. Disinfect with hydrogen peroxide once a year, irrespective of any disease infestation.
The addition of beneficial strains of bacteria and fungi is highly recommended.
The recommended pH of the fertiliser solution is between 5.5 - 6.5, although many growers prefer a pH around 5.8.
If you are working with a recycling system, the nutrient solution must be changed weekly and the tank cleaned.
