EC Hanna HI98304, EC measuring device
The handy Hanna EC-Meter has a robust graphite probe that requires little maintenance and measures very accurately. Temperature compensation is done manually by means of an integrated temperature sensor. The lightweight and compact pocket meter is excellent for routine measurements of the conductivity of the nutrient solution (fertiliser content). The Hanna DIST4 is not waterproof, but you can order an extremely inexpensive device.
The EC-meter should be cleaned after each use and calibrated regularly, this will increase the lifetime of the probe. The meter is calibrated with any calibration solution up to 20mS and an adjustment screw. The switch-on lever can be locked or held in one position so that the meter always switches off after use.
Conductivity (EC value) is a relevant parameter in plant cultivation. It is the ability of a medium to conduct an electric current. It can be used to measure the fertiliser content in the nutrient solution.
For the measurement of conductivity, Hanna Instruments offers powerful measuring instruments with potentiometric 4-ring probe. The potentiometric 4-ring technology enables the measurement of different measuring ranges with only one probe. Compared to the classic amperometric technology, it offers many advantages:
- Linear display over a wide measuring range
- No polarisation effect
- No cleaning of possible deposits
-
Fast and accurate measurements
-
temperature compensating measured values
