The Gavita Master Controller EL2 is designed to control Gavita E-Series lamps and ballasts. It offers full control with ease of use has an automatic dimmer function and emergency shutdown. Connect the controller cable and the lamp to the included T-splitter, set the ballast selector switch to EXT and connect the controller and ballast to a power outlet. And you are ready to start.

The controller can switch all Gavita E-Series ballasts connected to it on and off with an internal timer, set them to the desired output level and even simulate sunrise and sunset. This provides the most natural lighting possible that does not stress plants. If the temperature in the growing room rises above the climate controller setting, the controller detects this with the help of its temperature sensor and automatically dims the light. A display and LED indicate when the temperature becomes too high. If for some reason there is a technical problem and the temperature rises to a critical level, the controller independently performs an emergency shutdown.

All lamps and ballasts of the Gavita E series can be connected to the controller, even if they are located in separate grow rooms. Both rooms then have their own temperature sensors for the Auto dim function at high temperatures and the emergency shutdown at extreme temperatures. Commissioning the Gavita Master Controller is child's play: it just needs to be plugged in and the selector switch on the ballast is set to EXT.

The user interface is in 5 languages and can be used intuitively. The display shows all statuses, settings and warnings. LEDs are used for each output channel to indicate the switching status of the lamp and any overtemperature. The ballast can be plugged directly into the socket. No additional timer is required. The Gavita ballasts are in stand-by mode and are then activated by the signal from the controller.

The EL2 controller has a main and an auxiliary channel, which are synchronised with each other or can be operated alternately. The output power can be displayed either as a percentage or as an actual value (in watts). Even if the climate controller in the grow room should fail, the Gavita Master Controller can save your crop from too high temperatures by switching everything off in an emergency and reporting an alarm.

The Master Controller has two outputs for optional external contactor modules (ECMs). These industrial contactor units are able to switch a load of up to 15 amps for accessories when the lamps are switched on or off. With the ECMs you can switch, for example, your humidifier, a heater, a CO2 system and irrigation systems.
