Both parent strains are known for their sweet and earthy aroma. The seeds are suitable for gardeners of all levels and many growing styles. Malibu OG Gold is slightly indica dominant. Its classic indica traits are evident in the large fan leaves and strong stature, which provides sufficient stabilization for the heavy buds. The sativa influence can be seen in the mature height of the plants. This cross has produced four phenotypes that are similar but can still be distinguished by professionals. Malibu Gold has an average internode spacing. To provide more light to the buds, which are covered by larger fan leaves, a light defoliation is recommended.

The strain has a short flowering period that usually lasts 45 to 55 days. So, if planted properly, several harvests per year are possible. The height of Malibu OG Gold suggests the sativa influence of its genetics. However, its indica content prevents the plant from stretching too much. Indoors, the plants can grow over 120cm. Outdoors, expect larger plants of over 200 cm. The strain is productive in various growing mediums and grows in soil, coco, hydroponics, and live soil. Even with minimal effort, indoor harvests averaging 450 to 500 grams per square meter are possible. Outdoor harvests turn out even higher.
