It just makes sense to grow sunflowers and they are useful in any garden. They are healthy, valuable and super companion plants for cannabis plants. This variety helps camouflage cannabis plants with its considerable size. Sunflower seeds contain more high quality protein than the same amount of beef steak. Sunflower seeds are rich in folic acid. They contain vitamins E, B, A and F, and plenty of carotene, calcium and iodine. So growing sunflowers is much more than just pretty. The large flowers are a veritable hotel for useful insects. Bumblebees, honeybees and wild bees are happy about them and biodiversity is promoted.
Sunflowers like well-drained humus-rich soil and need plenty of water and nutrients in summer. They can also be grown in large planters (min. 30L, better 50L), but here they need plenty of additional fertiliser. It is believed that sunflowers can even increase yields as a companion plant. The oil of the sunflower seeds is also very rich in polyunsaturated fatty acids.
