Parrot Flower Power
Measuring rod with transmission to mobile phone
Parrot Flower Power is a measuring rod in the shape of a branch with four sensors. Above ground, they measure the light intensity and the air temperature; below ground, the moisture, soil heat and nutrient content are determined. The rod is inserted into the plant pot or bed and then monitors the plant's growth on the smartphone via Bluetooth. The app required for this is available for the iPhone and as an Android version.
Temperature measurement
The sensor that measures the temperature is called a PTC resistor. Not all plants tolerate the same temperature ranges. Flower Power helps you to maintain the minimum and maximum temperature for your plant.
Fertiliser measurement
To determine the fertiliser content, Flower Power measures the electrical conductivity, which provides information about the number of ions in the soil. The ions come from the fertiliser. The more ions there are in the soil, the more fertiliser it contains.
Measures the moisture in the soil
To measure soil moisture, Flower Power measures the dielectric permittivity. The more water there is in the soil, the higher the permittivity.
Brightness measurement
Photosynthesis is indispensable for plants. Without it, they cannot survive. Flower Power measures light at around 510 nm, the main wavelength range in which energy uptake by plants is promoted.
